The above quote is from an earlier post and I just want to tell you this sorrry tale.

2 nights ago we were struggling with resources. The reason being was because they were tied up in custody with prisoners from ridiculous and minor assaults. When i say ridiculous and minor I mean no injury and because it has a domestic flag the offender is arrested, normally against the wishes of the other party! All these things seem to be, are arguments between two adults who would normally settle things themselves. Its not like I haven't had some arguments with my other half is it, what about you?

Anyway, while we are dealing with all this crap, a lady is delivering her sons lunch to a school. When she is there a guy goes up behind her and stabs her twice in the back of the head. Completely unprovoked and a stranger attack!

I have to say at this point that he had mental health issues and was "care in the community". It took us far too long to get there and she suffered some life threatening injuries as a result of the attack. Had we got there quicker we would have caught the guy because apparently, he hung around for about 10 minutes. He later casually walked away and went to his brothers house. If it wasn't for his brother we may never have caught the guy. The brother phoned us to say his brother had come to his house with blood and cuts on his hands and was concerned!

We are very much in a tight area of Policing these days. If we rid ourselves of the junk we have to deal with, incidents such as this are far better serviced. Also the next time you see a lad breaking into your car you may just get a response a little quicker!
