Working Friday night with a WPC, (Not politically correct I know but can't be bothered at the moment!), when we saw a lad on a bike with no lights on going up a hill in the town where I work with a rucksack on. Given it was 10:30 or 11pm the ruck sack was not unusual. So we pulled along side him and my mate asked where his lights were to which he replied, "Why do I need lights you fat ****!" (her not me )

So being the caring sensitive soul that I am, I decided to drive past him on the wrong side of the road, with him crossing the road in front of other traffic to get away from us.

I mounted the curb, ran out of the car and went down the path where he disappeared into an alleyway. Being very dark, we couldn't really see him and as we walked up the path we saw a pile of something on the floor in front of us. As we got closer I could hear something like, " f*** f*** f*** their coming f***"

Thinking this young chap was in some type of distress and always wishing to assist where I can, I pulled him up, including the bike that was wrapped around his foot, and pinned the little shit against the wall!

Somewhat angry at what he had said to us, I raised my hand, pulled it back and pointed my finger at his skinny little nose and said,

"Thats why you need lights you skinny little ****!"

He started to struggle so I "restrained him on the floor" whilst my mate looked into his rucksack to see what he was hiding and hey presto! 2 sat navs, a load of CD's, a wallet, a purse and an IPod!

Not wishing to give us his name he was nicked and taken to custody and is currently waiting to go to court for 2 counts of burglary and 1 count of theft from motor vehicle

The moral of the story folks? Always think safe and have lights on your bike at night. That way you can go burgling without fear of being caught by the old bill!
