Should This Be Allowed?

Recently some of my colleagues and I carried out a search warrant on an address where they were growing cannabis. In the property we found in excess of 50 plants all ready to be harvested. All the adults in the house were arrested and taken to the Police station
Duty Please
When they arrived they all asked for the duty solicitor so we had four interviews to carry out with the same solicitor. The fist interview takes place and is no comment. The second interview takes place and is no comment except for "Haven't been in the 18 year old son's room for 10 years". This interview takes place with the same result as number 2. The last interview takes place where there are full admissions but "The others knew nothing about it they haven't been in my room for 10 years!!"
Do We Believe Them?
Now call me old fashioned but is there not something wrong with this? The same solicitor is allowed to represent all four suspects alowing them the opportunity to pass on what the others have said and formulate a defence. Why are we allowing solicitors to do this. I have no proof of course but it is highly coincidental do you not think!
